~는지 알다/모르다 [neunji alda/moreuda] (Know/don't know whether)

Used to express knowing or not knowing whether something is or will be the case.

Formation

Verb stem + 는지 + 알다/모르다

Examples

그가 학교에 갔는지 알아요?

Geuga hakgyoe gatneunji arayo?

Do you know if he went to school?

저는 그녀가 아직 사랑하는지 모르겠어요.

Jeoneun geunyeoga ajik saranghaneunji moreugesseoyo.

I don't know if she still loves (me or someone).

우리가 이길 수 있는지 알아요?

Uriga igil su inneunji arayo?

Do you know if we can win?

너가 그의 생일을 기억하는지 모르겠어요.

Neoga geuui saengireul gieokhaneunji moreugesseoyo.

I don't know if you remember his birthday.

Long Explanation

The '~는지 알다/모르다' structure is used to indicate whether the speaker (or someone else) knows or doesn't know a particular fact or circumstance. It can also appear in questions to ask if someone knows about a certain situation.
