In this lesson, we'll explore the Japanese grammar point 〜ことにしている (koto ni shite iru). This expression is commonly used to indicate habits or routines that one has consciously decided to adopt. It's a useful structure for discussing personal decisions that you regularly carry out.
〜ことにしている is used to express that someone has made a personal decision to do (or not do) something and is maintaining that decision as a regular practice or habit.
The basic structure of 〜ことにしている is:
