Examples

冷蔵庫に入れると、溶けたアイスクリームは固体に戻ります。

Reizouko ni ireru to, toketa aisukuriimu wa kotai ni modorimasu.

When put in the refrigerator, the melted ice cream returns to its solid state.

休暇が終わったら、仕事に戻ります。

Kyuuka ga owattara, shigoto ni modorimasu.

When the vacation ends, I will return to work.

リモートワークが終わった後、元のオフィスに戻ります。

Rimooto waaku ga owatta ato, moto no ofisu ni modorimasu.

After remote work is over, we will return to our original office.

外国で勉強した後、日本に帰ります。

Gaikoku de benkyou shita ato, Nihon ni kaerimasu.

After studying abroad, I will return to Japan.

Long Explanation

The Noun に 戻ります grammar point is used to express going back or reverting to a previous state, place, or condition. 戻る (modoru) literally means 'to go back' or 'to revert'. This is often used after a change has occurred, indicating that something is being undone or returned to its original form.
