Processing keyword: ~ても-でも (〜te mo-demo)
In this lesson, we'll explore the Japanese grammar point ~ても・~でも (~te mo / ~de mo), which is used to express "even if" or "even though". This structure allows speakers to convey that a certain condition does not affect the outcome of an action or situation.

い-adjective | Adjective (-くて form) + も |
な-adjective/Noun | Adjective/Noun + でも |
書く (to write) → 書いて (te-form) → 書いても (even if [someone] writes)
行く (to go) → 行って → 行っても (even if [someone] goes)
高い (expensive) → 高くて → 高くても (even if it's expensive)
寒い (cold) → 寒くて → 寒くても (even if it's cold)
便利 (convenient) → 便利でも (even if it's convenient)
休み (holiday) → 休みでも (even if it's a holiday)
雨が降っても、行きます。
Ame ga futte mo, ikimasu.
Even if it rains, I will go.
雨が降ったら、行きません。
Ame ga futtara, ikimasen.
If it rains, I won't go.
たとえ反対されても、夢をあきらめない。
Tatoe hantai sarete mo, yume o akiramenai.
Even if I'm opposed, I won't give up my dream.
何度でも挑戦します。
Nando demo chōsen shimasu.
I'll challenge myself no matter how many times it takes.
